I am on my 4th year of after care for breast cancer.  My last blood tests came up with high calcium levels.  My Onc had me come back 3 months later for a re-check and those came back in the high normal range.  The only difference I had in the 6 months between checkups and the checkup with the hypercalcimia was take Prevastatin.  I quit taking this for the 3 months before my re-check.  Does an...

What is a CA 15-3 marker test??  I looked for it on the interenet, but there is really no "good/solid" information.

AmandaJD It is a screen to show your tumour levels ie if it reaches 30 or higher then they have to check to see if the tumour has recurred or you have secondaries. Unfortunately for me, my cancer is a non secretor, so I have little comfort in low readings - my cancer was 4.1cms in the right breast and my tumour levels (Ca 15.3) was just 12. It should have been in the 100's with that size. Good luck

I had breast cancer in 2010, went thru the surgeries, chemo, rads, and have been doing OK for almost 4 years.  The last checkup I had my Onc. told me my calcium levels were rising and wanted to re-check my level in 3 months.  He told me that if they were still high he would do some other testing.  Has anyone had high blood calcium levels that indicated bone cancer??  Do most BC's move to bone??&nb...

I have IDC T2b(2.1cm)N1(mi)/13, had Lumpectomy and axillary node dissection. I developed a staph infection in the area where the drain tube was, and, also in an area of the incision in my breast. I had to go into surgery again to clean out the infection, was on 3 days of IV antibiotics and 14 more days of oral antibiotics. I go into my Dr. everyday to have the wounds packed (on about day 24, now). The infection (abcess) was actually found on the CT/PET scan I had, along with an area of hypermetabolic subpectoral lymph nodes - stating that they were indeterminate for metastases or infection related. That has me FREAKED as this was not even mentioned to me by my Dr.s. I can't do anything (other treatments) until I am fully healed. Has anyone else had an experience along these lines????
