The first month was a testing to see where it was and what type of cancer it was. I was lucky because mine fe...

I lost half of a kidney due to a clear cell kidney cancer tumor in 2014. They can take portions of the kidney out and reconstruct to have a functioning partial kidney. Hopefully this is in your husband's options. Secondly..... my cancer came back with a vengiance last year after 4 years. Check to see if he is a canadate for immunotherapy based on something called a PDL1. This may be helpful in the cancer progressing ...

Hi, I am just seeing your message today and feel compelled to respond. I sure hope and pray things have gotten better at this point for your sister. Hi Ambird3. I am sorry to hear of your mom's condition and my prayers and happy thoughts go out to you and your family. I am a new member as well and feel like a sponge to learn as much as I can about this cancer. I went though a 6cm tumor removal and half a kidney 4 days ago. The procedure was robotic. I searched this out from help from others on this site so I know others will help you in anyway they can. Somethi...

I am early in my diagnosis (3 weeks) and have already had 2 kidney ct scans at different locations and an MRI. I also had a lung CT, brain MRI and extensive blood work.  I wanted to be all over it as soon as possible. Within the past 5 days I had robotic surgery to remove the 6cm kidney tumor and half of my kidney. You can do this... just get on it :-) My prayers your way.

Bob, Many thanks for taking the time to write. The funny thing is..... I have been in healthcare my entire life. Always working with patients from the other side and thinking I know what they must be going through. Boy was I wrong...ha ha! Having to face a crisis head on, and without warning, sure puts you through an emotional rollercoaster. From tears to anger to why me? I have always been a "glass half full" kin...

Hi Robin, Thank you again for your message. I finally have some time to respond. I am so sorry to hear of your husband's cancer. You are right... sometimes it just doesn't seem fair.  The first 3 days my wife and I cried and talked out all the "what ifs". It really hurts to think that others can be cancer free, yet not take care of themselves in any way. I have no cancer in my family history and can't help but ...

Many thanks Robin and piper for your suggestions and kind words. I wish you the best with your journey as well. Yesterday I met with a Beaumont urologist who uses a robotic procedure to remove the tumor. He feels confident that he can get it all and maybe save 50% of the kidney too. Now we are trying to schedule surgery. I had a lung cat scan yesterday afternoon and meet with a pumonologist today. Wish me luck! The...

Many thanks Martin, Billy and D for your replies. I really appreciate your views and suggestions. I now have some other options to think about. Hopefully in a few more days more results will give me a better path to move forward. The unknown is really hard to deal with. Best wishes and my prayers to each of you. :-) Kevin
