I had the same fear before thyrogen/rai and didn't have any symptoms at all during them! Of course everyone's different and you may experience some symptoms, but try to remain calm and positive and it will be over soon!

you're right, reading other people's horror stories will only make me more scared and most likely (hopefully) won't happen to me! I learned that after dealing with my surgery when I was more scared of people's experiences than my actual surgery/outcome itself.  but thank you very much I will look into it!

thank you.  When I saw my surgeon two weeks ago for a follow up he told me call him in a month if it is not back yet, so I guess I will just wait a bit longer.  If not, I will definitely make an appointment with an ENT.  As for the RAI, being quarantined and radioactive sounds scary to me lol, but I do not know many details yet aside from watching and reading other people's stories online and doing a l...

I am back to regular life and am not just going to put it on hold becuase I don't have a voice but it does get frustrating at times.  Also, I have to start RAI soon because the cancer did spread to my lymphnodes and they had to remove them.  ...

Yeah, they reccamended removing the whole thing all together. Have you had it removed? I'm worried about getting the thyroid levels back to normal after but that's something my doctor said he's going to work closely with me and I have trust in him on that. I was skeptical about the Diagnosis because of how my first endo relayed the messages compared to the second.

Hello, I was recently diagnosed with papillary and follicular thyroid cancer.  After my OBGYN found a lump and ordered me an ultrasound, I soon went to an endocrinologist and recieved a biopsy  when he told me it was suspicious of cancer and I needed it removed.  When I felt uneasy with my doctor because he never explained anyting to me (and I never saw him in person after the biopsy) I went to a new e...
