Jayara1029  I hope your uncle is doing OK. I just lost my dad to stage 4 lung cancer in  August. If I can offer you any advice just make things right with your uncle and by now hopefully you have. No matter how awkward or strained your relationship is you can make it right. My father and I were kind of estranged and had our ups and downs and before his diagnosis we hit heads and had some difficult times. Af...

He had a stem cell transplant that was not successful and the hospital he is at in Chicago is sending him home and I am very concerned about him as he's a young boy and I want to get some helpful info to save his life.  I am hoping someone has some information for me about this type of...

I suggested he see a doctor to rule out lung cancer if he's concerned. However, My dad has advance stage 4 lung cancer brain mets and had very very few symptoms other than pain in his side that prompted him to see the doctor. His cancer was found in an xray and it was very advanced and he felt OK with very few aches or pains. So symptoms in my world mean nothing! Also my grandmother had stage 3 advanced ovarian cance...

I know of cases of people who's lung cancer has been diagnosed by a chest  xray. So it's not unheard of that an xray will find lung cancer. Unfortunately you seem to be worried you have the disease so I suggest you see a pulmonary doctor for piece of mind. I honestly doubt you have lung cancer. There is a disease called psychosomatic illness and which is when you start reading up on diseases such as lung cancer ...

There will be good days and  bad days. I am going through this with my dad and I know for a spouse it's even more difficult so you are in my prayers. Melissa82273 , It's hard to say why there are no symptoms with Stage 4 lung cancer. My dad has Stage 4 and he had no symptoms except an intermittent pain in under his left arm on the side of his body. The pain would come and go and he thought it was just a pulled muscle. When it kept coming back he went to the doctor and found out he had Stage 4 lung cancer that went to his brain. My entire family including mys...

Hi Chuck and Noriko, I am so happy to hear that your blood work and CT scan was normal. That's very good and it gives me hope. I am glad that the port is gone. Hopefully you are not in too much pain after the port removal.  My dad plans to go back to work today as his oncologist is encouraging him to stay active. We are all a little concerned because we don't want him to over do it since he just got out of the...

Hi Chuck thank you so much for your helpful information. I saw my dad and his wife today and I shared your response with them. He had a tough week last week due to side effects from the radiation burning his throat and ended up in the hospital.  Thankfully he is back at home on nutrient packs from his doctor because he really can't eat much has not a big appetite and the nutrients are keeping him full. He has sw...
